Mini Hollywood in Medina de Rioseco
Esther Sahagun, the Spanish teacher of our weekend courses, has welcomed the BBC to Medina de Rioseco for their new Spanish online course. Students had the opportunity to become actors for a day.
September and October 2007 transformed Medina de Rioseco to a 'mini Hollywood'.
The BBC filmed parts of their new Spanish online course (available from March 2008) in the Medina de Rioseco, Belmonte de Campos, Villanueva and one of the many wine cellars of Rueda after Esther Sahagun has proposed Castilla y León as an ideal filming location. Many scenes were filmed in the house which students stay in during the Weekend course and one scene in particular included some of the students, who enjoyed the experience of being actors for a few hours. All of the participants cannot wait to see the end result. If you are interested in learning more about the BBC's filming in Castilla y León you can read two articles taken from regional and local newspapers.
